Washingborough Hall Opens New Orangery Extension
Washingborough Hall, a pretty Georgian country house hotel, near Lincoln, renowned as one of the region’s leading wedding venues, has just opened its new orangery-style extension, ‘The Winston Room’.
Built to complement the historic elegance of the Grade II listed building, the single storey wing is the first major extension to this period house for 150 years. The Winston Room will accommodate larger weddings at the hotel, as well as providing more flexibility for all events. It enjoys its own dedicated bar area and conveniently joins onto one of the hotel’s existing reception rooms.
The Winston Room can accommodate up to 120 guests for drinks; or combine with the existing ground-floor room, up to 150 guests for drinks, and 120 guests for dinner in the combined rooms, and if required a further 40 in The Sibthorpe, a separate dining room in the original house.
Combining historic style with modern facilities, including air conditioning, acoustically lined walls and disabled access, this purpose-built space will be ideal for all manner of weddings, events and celebrations. Access is via its own separate entrance, from the beautiful west-facing lawns and mature gardens which surround the hotel, or via the main portico entrance and ground floor reception rooms.
In addition to this, brides and grooms-to-be will be spoilt for choice, with a brand new master suite, The Ingleby, which along with the two existing four-poster suites, gives a selection of stunning and romantic first–night options.
With three large angled sash windows giving a wide view over the hotel’s lawns, the generously-sized Ingleby suite, is especially opulent with chestnut leather upholstery, sumptuous Skopos silk drapes and Brunschwig & Fils wallpaper in a warm pallet of nature’s richest greens and golds, enhancing the period features and superb light quality of the room.
